Police: Man Beaten Over Medication

Police arrested a Springdale man Saturday after he reportedly beat up a neighbor and stole his prescription medication.

David Arthur Adair, 19, of 20626 Wade Road faces felony charges of second-degree battery, possession of a controlled substance and theft of property.

Springdale police were called to Adair’s home for a battery report at 12:49 a.m.

According to a preliminary arrest report, a relative told police Adair was beating 48-year-old Sean Cheasbro with his fists.

Adair reportedly put Cheasbro in his car and drove him to his house, 20575 Wade Hall Road.

When police arrived, they found Cheasbro alone in a car, covered in blood, according to the report. He told police Adair stole his medication and beat him.

Police found Adair hiding in a bathtub of an nearby empty house. He was reportedly holding a bottle of Alprazolam, which belonged to Cheasbro.

He was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held Saturday on $3,500 bond.

Cheasbro was reportedly taken to a hospital and treated for a broken jaw, laceration to his head and bleeding on his brain. The name of the hospital wasn’t listed on the arrest report.
