Womack’s Son Faces Charge

— The son of 3rd District Rep. Steve Womack, R-Rogers, was arrested Friday.

James Phillip Womack, 25, of Rogers was arrested in connection with violating parole, according to Benton County Jail records. He was booked into jail at 9:45 a.m. Friday.

Rhonda Sharp, spokeswoman for the Arkansas Department of Community Correction, said the arrest wasn’t related to any new charges.

“He violated the terms and conditions of his parole, and he faces sanctions,” Sharp said. She would not disclose the violations.

James Womack was being held in the county jail with no bond set.

He pleaded guilty in November 2010 to conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, a Class A felony. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with a boot camp recommendation — a 105-day program. He was also arrested for violating parole in November 2011 and April 2012, according to jail records.
