NWA teams advance in playoffs

— Four Northwest Arkansas high school teams won Friday night to advance in the state football playoffs.

Bentonville beat West Memphis 42-0 and Fayetteville defeated Conway 38-17 in home games to advance to the Class 7A semifinals. The Tigers will host Fort Smith Southside, which beat Springdale Har-Ber 24-22 on Friday, next week, while the Bulldogs will travel to North Little Rock.

In Class 4A, Prairie Grove overcame a 16-point second half deficit to beat Pottsville 34-28 at home and remain undefeated. With the win, the Tigers set up a state quarterfinals game against perennial power Nashville next week in Prairie Grove.

Greenland beat Osceola 28-14 at home to advance to the state quarterfinals in Class 3A. The Pirates will host Prescott, which beat Mayflower 69-24 on Friday, next week.

Pea Ridge's season came to an end Friday with a 42-21 loss to Heber Springs at home. The Blackhawks, which led the game 21-6 at halftime, finished the season with a 10-2 record.
