Man Pleads Not Guilty To Rape

— A Cave Springs man pleaded not guilty Thursday to raping a 14-year-old girl.

Nathan Allan McBride, 18, is charged with rape, a Class Y felony. He entered the plea during an arraignment before Circuit Judge Jon Comstock. McBride could be sentenced from 10 to 40 years or life imprisonment If convicted.

McBride was arrested Sept. 12. He is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor by forcible compulsion, according to court documents,

McBride told a Cave Springs police officer he forced the girl to have sex on two occasions. McBride told the officer an urge overtook him and he couldn’t stop, according to the affidavit.

Police questioned the girl and she confirmed McBride raped her, according to court documents.

An omnibus hearing will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 12.

McBride is being held in the Benton County Jail on $50,000 bond.
