133 lbs. of marijuana seized, two arrested

Two California men were arrested this week after police found 133 pounds of marijuana on an airplane at the Springdale airport.

Local police were alerted to a suspicious plane without a flight plan that left Eureka, Calif., and landed in Springdale. Authorities searched the plane after the pilot and another man left, and found several duffel bags full of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.

Karl Sperling and Damieon Foster were arrested when they later returned to the airport, according to the complaint. Sperling immediately requested an attorney. Foster agreed to cooperate with investigators but did not provide useful information, according to the complaint.
