— Little Rock native Keith Jackson, the radio color analyst for Arkansas football games on the Razorback Sports Network, has been chosen to receive the NCAA’s Silver Anniversary Award.

The award recognizes distinguished former NCAA athletes on the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of their college careers.

Jackson will be honored along with the Air Force Academy’s Chad Hennings, UCLA’s Gail Devers, Stanford’s Patrick McEnroe, Columbia’s Bob Cottingham and Brigham Young’s Dylann Ceriani in a Jan. 18 ceremony at the NCAA Convention in Grapevine, Texas.

“When you think about what it means and how hard it is to get, it’s really flattering,” Jackson said. “It’s not about sports at the end of the day, although you were someone who played in the NCAA and you did your job well when you were on campus. It’s about what you’ve done after your athletic career.”

Jackson said he’s already heard from friends and former coaches who plan to attend the ceremony.

Jackson, a 2001 College Football Hall of Fame inductee, a two-time All-American at Oklahoma, and a six-time NFL Pro Bowler, was nominated by Oklahoma Athletic Director Joe Castiglione for his success after his athletic career ended.

“They pick student-athletes who were good students and players who are still contributing in society,” Jackson said. “They’re really recognizing the work I do at P.A.R.K. [Positive Attitudes Reach Kids ]”
