— HOT SPOTSLAKE MAUMELLE Crappie are biting well, especially on

Baby Shad and Slab Slay’Rs in red/chartreuse, bone

white, pearl and orange/chartreuse in deep water.

White bass can be found in deep water in the channel and river. For bream, head for deep water and usenight crawlers, red worms, meal worms,

crickets and rock hoppers. Bass are hitting

tequila sunrise and dark-color worms,

spinner baits, Rooster Tails and Flukes.

ARKANSAS RIVER (MORRILTON POOL) White

bass and shad are everywhere. Where the flow

drops, they go to a suspended depth of 5-10 feet. Catfish reports are good. Fish 4-20 feet deep withshad early in the morning. Kentucky bass are on flats and the edges, depending on shad. Stripers are

under shad on jetty points and secondary drops. Let a CC spoon drop below schools. Largemouths can becaught 4-10 feet deep with twin spins.

BUFFALO RIVER If you’re willing to hike, you can reach long pools that hold fish. The top-water bite with flies is really goinggangbusters. Spotted bass are holding near woody debris.

Smallmouth bass are in the deeper channels. Sunfish have been caught with about anything that hits the water. Spin fishing haspicked up fish with white or gray Flukes, 4-inch Zoom lizards in

watermelon red and tube baits in green pumpkinseed. Crank baits, buzzbaits and spinners have worked well also.

BEAVER LAKE Bass fishing has improved. Drop-shotting a 4-inch Finesse

along pole timber in 25-40 feet of water has worked well for spotted bass

as of late. Spinner baits worked along gravel to chunk rock banks with cover

has been working well for largemouth, as well as spotted bass. Little Clifty, Monte Ne, Rambo and Ventris have been good places to fish for bass. Crappie have been suspending not too far from creek channels in 25-40 feet of water.

Minnows have been working well fished on a sixteenth-ounce jighead. Monte Ne, Horseshoe Bend, Ventris and Eden Bluff have all been good areas to find crappie. A few walleye have been mixed in with the whites. Some top-water action has been occurring early and late in the day.
