— NEBRASKA Pelini: No big deal

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini said he can’t change his ways and fans might as well accept that yelling and confrontations between him and his players are going to happen on the sidelines.

The latest incident came Saturday, when Pelini and safety Daimion Stafford got into a heated exchange following a Penn State touchdown - a confrontation caught on camera for the ABC-televised game.

Stafford pointed his right index finger in Pelini’s face, turned around and then came back to yell and point some more as Pelini leaned toward him. Pelini’s back was to the camera for the duration of the video.

Pelini said Monday that he has a disciplined team that represents the state and university well and that he didn’t think Stafford was being disrespectful.

“The only thing you can criticize Daimion Stafford for was wanting to win so bad,” Pelini said. “He was upset. He should be upset. We gave up a touchdown.”

OKLAHOMA STATE

QB situation unsettled

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State Coach Mike Gundy isn’t saying who the Cowboys will start at quarterback Saturday against No. 23 Texas Tech.

Wes Lunt and J.W. Walsh are recovering from knee injuries, which leaves third-string junior Clint Chelf as the only healthy quarterback for the Cowboys. Last week, Chelf led the Cowboys to a 55-34 victory over West Virginia. Chelf completed 22 of 31 passes for 292 yards and 4 touchdowns in his first career start.

Even with that level of success, Gundy was not making any commitment Monday as Oklahoma State (6-3, 4-2 Big 12) prepared to host Texas Tech (7-3, 4-3) in its final home game of the season.
