U.S. refiners defend gasoline, diesel exports

U.S. refiners are selling diesel and gasoline to countries such as Mexico, Canada and even OPEC member Venezuela at historically high levels, making the nation a net exporter of fuel for the first time since 1949, according to the Energy Department.
