Railroad Crossing Work To Close Cato Springs Road

— A section of Cato Springs Road west of South School Avenue is scheduled to close Monday and remain closed to through traffic for 10 days, according to a news release.

The city’s contractor, Dean Crowder Construction, and the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad are leveling a railroad crossing on Cato Springs Road between Garland and Vale avenues.

Traffic will be rerouted along Garland Avenue to 15th Street and along Vale Avenue to Razorback Road during construction.

The improvements are part of a larger project to add curb and gutter, sidewalks and drainage pipes along Cato Springs Road between South School Avenue and Razorback Road.

The project is expected to be complete by late spring 2013. It is being paid for with federal money and a 1-cent sales tax Fayetteville voters approved in 2006.
