Recycling Events Planned

— Several events are planned next week as part of America Recycles Day, a nationally recognized program sponsored by the anti-littering organization, Keep America Beautiful.

4:30-6 p.m. Wednesday: Agents with the Washington County Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a build-your-own-rain-barrel workshop at Ozark Natural Foods, 1554 N. College Ave. Space is limited. Cost is $15.

10 a.m.-noon Thursday: Residents are invited to tour Fayetteville’s Solid Waste and Recycling facility, 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road.

Noon-6 p.m. Thursday: Representatives from the University of Arkansas’ Office of Sustainability will accept paper, cardboard and plastics to recycle at Ozark Natural Foods.

2-6 p.m. Friday: Area businesses and organizations will talk about sustainability and energy efficiency projects at Ozark Natural Foods. Habitat for Humanity of Washington County will be on site to accept and recycle old building materials.

10 a.m.-noon Saturday: “The Lorax” (PG) will be screened in the conference room at Ozark Natural Foods. A crafts project for children using recycled materials is also planned.
