Wal-Mart announces changes to Black Friday lineup

— Wal-Mart announced new changes to their 'Black Friday' lineup this year, including deals on certain products and reduced prices.

On a conference call with the media, spokesmen for the company said that the issues customers faced last year led them to make some changes to the order of events and the amount of product they carried.

"Whether they like to start early, go to bed early and get up early, we'll meet their needs," Dave Tovar, vice president of corporate communications for Wal-Mart, said.

Events will begin at 10 p.m. Thanksgiving night, while a large amount of the reduced prices and discounts will begin at 5 a.m., with markdowns on unique items Tovar said. Those products include tires, sewing machines and jewelry.

The biggest improvement from last season's shopping, is the new guarantee that three popular items will be in stock when customers arrive for them. An Apple iPad 2, a 32-inch LCD television and an LG Blu-Ray Player.

If the items are not in stock, customers will be given a card to purchase that specific item within the next day when it stock is renewed.

"Bought deep, very deep, for customers [this year]," Tovar said.
