Some Pea Ridge voters waited hours

The last vote in Pea Ridge was cast slightly before midnight by the election sheriff, Jerry Nichols. Shortly before that with a dozen people waiting to cast their ballot, one of the four electronic voting machines quit.

More than 1,332 votes were cast in Pea Ridge Tuesday. Some voters waited as long as five hours to cast their ballots.

“It’s unthinkable that they should have to wait that long,” Nichols said, adding that he had been asking the Election Commission for more electronic voting machines and more paper ballots.
