Kimbro Arrested After Standoff

— Jason Kimbro, 24, was arrested following a standoff Monday night in Lowell.

Lowell police arrested Kimbro in connection with domestic battery, terroristic threatening and resisting arrest. The Benton County Jail lists all charges as misdemeanors, and includes a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lowell officers were sent to a disturbance at 507 Opal Ave. about 6:22 p.m. A woman, claiming to be Kimbro’s wife, left the house through the garage when officer arrived, according to a news release.

The woman said two children, ages 3 and 1, were in the home. She said her husband was drinking heavily, according to the news release. Police spoke with Kimbro who said the children were tied to a chair and he wouldn’t let them leave. He said if officers came in things would end badly.

Lowell’s Special Response Team took Kimbro into custody after forcing entry into the home, according to the release.

Kimbro was taken by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries he received during the arrest, according to the release. He was then taken to Benton County Jail.

The children were uninjured and given to their grandparents, according to the release.
