Police: Woman Injured In Hit-And-Run

Wittnesses Give Description Of Incident, SUV

— A woman was reportedly injured in a hit-and-run accident at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of North Salem Road and West Howard Nickel Road, just outside of Fayetteville city limits on Arkansas 112.

Elizabeth Napier, 57, of Fayetteville was walking along the shoulder of the road when a vehicle swerved and hit her, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. She was transported to the Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was a silver or gray SUV with previous damage to the rear. The driver ran a stop sign at the intersection and then swerved into Napier and left the scene in an unknown direction, witnesses told police. The vehicle is now missing its driver’s side mirror, witnesses reported.

The incident is being investigated.
