— Forty of the 50,000 respondents (0.0008 percent) to Sarah Bunim Benor’s survey of common uses of Yiddish and Hebrew language came from Arkansas.

For confidentiality reasons, their contact information is not available. But we know this:

Seventy percent (28) are Jews; 25 percent (10) are non-Jews; and the remaining 5 percent (2) are people with some Jewish heritage.

The Jewish respondents further break down this way:

11 Reform

Eight Conservative

Six Orthodox

Five Secular/cultural

Of the 27 who identified their city, they were concentrated in Little Rock (12) and Fayetteville (9). The others include one each from Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, Rogers, Russellville, Sherwood and Springdale.
