Mankin: Veterans Day is call to service

Retired U.S. Marine Cpl. Aaron Mankin emphasizes the importance of Veterans Day during the Westside Elementary Veterans Day ceremony on Friday.
Veterans Day is about service, retired Marine Cpl. Aaron Mankin told families gathered at Westside Elementary School on Friday. Mankin, who was severely burned while serving in Iraq in 2005, talked with students about his recovery process. Mankin was the first patient in UCLA's Operation Mend and has had 60 reconstructive surgeries in seven years.
