Disaster keeps campaigns muted

President Barack Obama on Wednesday told people recovering from Sandy’s devastation along New Jersey’s coastline that “we are here for you, and we will not forget.” Obama joined New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and other officials to inspect damage from the storm that struck the East Coast. He saw flooded neighborhoods and sandstrewn streets during a tour that came less than a week before Election Day.

Speaking in Brigantine, New Jersey Wednesday President Barack Obama told those recovering from superstorm Sandy: "We are here for you, and we will not forget." Meanwhile, Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney resumed campaigning Wednesday following a brief break during superstorm Sandy. He told a crowd in Florida to pray for the victims and urged the country to come together. (By The Associated Press)
