Beaver Lake: Crappie fishing is good with jigs or minnows in the midlake area.

Jason Piper at J.T. Crappie Guide Services said crappie are close to the bottom 25 to 40 feet deep. Good jig colors include pink/white or black/chartreuse. Try a black/ chartreuse curly-tailed grub.

Fishing is reported good at Horseshoe Bend, Monte Ne, Eden’s Bluff and Pine Creek.

White bass can be caught by trolling crank baits close to main channel ledges. A few walleye have been mixed in with the white bass.

John Hodge at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass are biting topwater lures at sunrise and sunset.

Try spinner baits for bass on cloudy or windy days. On sunny days try jigs 10 to 20 feet deep along main-lake points.

Reports are spotty on other species because of deer seasons, Hodge said.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said minnows are out-fishing jigs for crappie. Use minnows 10 to 20 feet deep around brush in the War Eagle arm.

White River below Beaver Dam: Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting a combination of orange and chartreuse Power Bait tipped with a waxworm.

Effective lures for trout include size 7 or 9 floating Rapalas, gold Colorado spoons or micro jigs.

The top flies are a Little Lucy midge, prince nymph, soft-hackle or San Juan worm.

Brown trout are staging to spawn, Mullins said.

Lake Fayetteville: Dollie Black at Lake Sequoyah boat dock said black bass are biting buzz baits, spinner baits, crank baits or plastic worms. Try crickets or worms for bluegill.

Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah boat dock said catfish are biting liver or sunfish. Ron Johnson caught a 15-pound flathead catfish last week on a sunfish.

Black bass are biting crank baits or plastic worms. Jim Thomas caught several bass last week on both.

Lake Elmdale: Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said black bass are biting plastic worms rigged wacky style. Plastic lizards fished with a light sinker are working.

Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud at BW Outdoors in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting shallow-diving crank baits or swim baits.

Try plastic worms 1 to 30 feet deep.

Siloam Springs Lake: Stroud recommends using plastic worms in dark colors for black bass.

Illinois River: Stroud said small plastic worms, tube baits or grubs are all working for black bass.

Bella Vista: Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting at all Bella Vista lakes on jigs or crank baits.

Bluegill are biting crickets or worms.

Upper Table Rock Lake: No report this week. J.D.

Fletcher said last week that black bass fishing was fair to slow with spinner bait worked along rocky shorelines.

Eastern Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports excellent black bass fishing with crank baits or plastic worms.

Bass at Lake Hudson are biting well on spinner baits or top-water lures. At Lake Eucha, crappie are fair on minnows or jigs 12 feet deep.
