— HOT SPOTSARKANSAS RIVER (MAUMELLE POOL) Bream are biting well on red worms and crickets. Crappie are biting well on jigs and minnows fished in brushtops along the channel. Bass are biting well on Zara Spooks and spinnerbaits early in the mornings. Catfishing isgood using brood minnows, night crawlers,

chicken livers and chicken hearts.

LITTLE RED RIVER The river is low and

clear with little generation. Trout are biting excellently when the water is down, mostly onwax worms and marshmallows. Dry flies are taking some surface-feeding trout when there is aslight amount of current.

LAKE NORFORK Stripers have started their annual migration from the dam area. Fish live gizzard shad20 feet deep over the schools of stripers. Largemouth,

smallmouth and spotted bass fishing are is improving

daily. Walleye are being caught on spoons in 30-40 feet of water. Bluegill fishing has been good using crickets and red

worms fished along bluffs in deep water. Crappie fishing has been fair using minnows fishing in deep water around brush.

MILLWOOD LAKE The bass bite continues to improve through mid-afternoon. Bass Assassin shads, pad frogs, Johnson spoonswith grub trailers and Zara Spooks are working around pads and

vegetation edges. Later in the morning, when largemouth begin schooling, switch to Cotton Cordell, Kastmaster or Johnson Splinter spoons. White bass continue to roam the oxbows and Little River inlarge schools over the past few weeks chasing shad. Crappie are biting well on Cotton Cordell smoke-colored paddle tail grubs and on Berkley white or smoke-colored curly tail grubs on light wire jig heads and Blakemore Roadrunners. Catfish remain good along Little River on trotlines set 12-22 feet deep using cut bait, cut shad, chicken livers or Catfish Charlie.

WHITE RIVER The water is clear and low, and no generators are running.

Trout fishing is excellent. Fly-fishermen are catching some good trout on Woolly Buggers, zebra midges and San Juan worms.
