Garland Avenue Construction Begins Tuesday

— Moving water and sewer lines along Garland Avenue is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

The work is part of the road’s widening project from North to Janice streets by the Highway Department.

Work is expected to be completed in December. Construction will include new water and sewer mains, additional fire hydrants and service connections for structures along the length of the project.

Several trees will need to be removed for the improvement, and the city has coordinated with the Watershed Conservation Resource Center to reuse trees 10 inches in diameter and larger for streamside restoration projects in the area.

The work will require workers to close one lane of traffic at times.

The work is joint project between the Highway Department and Fayetteville.
