— HOT SPOTS1. ARKANSAS RIVER (MAUMELLE POOL) Bream fishing is excellent using crickets and red worms around cypress knees and in lily pad fields. Crappie fishing is good using yo-yos with live minnows. Anglers are catching bass flipping creature baits and topwaterbaits in the mornings. Try Rattlin’ Rogues

or buzzbaits. Catfishing is excellent using

chicken hearts, cut shad, skipjack or rice slicks.

  1. BEAVER LAKE Bream fishing is good using worms and crickets. Crappie are being caught using minnows and jigs. Bass fishing is goodusing Alabama rig, jigs, tubes, crankbaits and plastic worms. Catfish is good using goldfish or perch on limb lines.

  2. LAKE MAUMELLE Bream fishing is excellent using crickets and red worms 10-12 feet deep. Crappie are fishing is good using Kalin’s two-inch grubs in Tennessee

shad or bleeding shad. Bass are being caught on topwater baits in the mornings. Try Rattlin’ Rogues, Boy Howdies, shad or root beer crankbaits. Catfishing is good.

  1. LAKE HINKLE Bream fishing is good using worms and

crickets. Crappie are being caught on minnows and jigs. Bass fishing is good using minnows, spinners or crankbaits. Catfish arebeing caught on chicken livers and shiners.

  1. WHITE RIVER Trout fishing is excellent, especially using PowerBait.

Small spinners and spoons are working as well, along with Zebra Midges and Copper Johns. The water is too low for big baits, so light tackle is recommended.
