BENTONVILLE — A female inmate in the Benton County jail was found unconscious in her cell and later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Jail Capt. Chis Sparks said a jail deputy found Faith Denise Whitcomb, 52, on her cell floor.
Whitcomb was arrested on drug charges in July 2011. A mental evaluation in November found her unfit to proceed, so she was committed to the Arkansas State Hospital in Little Rock, according to court documents. Whitcomb was being held in the county jail awaiting transport to the State Hospital, Sparks said.
