Feriba McNair, the namesake of McNair Middle School in Fayetteville, died Thursday, according to the Fayetteville School District website.
McNair graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1938 and was a cheerleader. teacher, coach and school board member, according to the website.
She also developed the high school's girls golf program.
