PEA RIDGE — Pea Ridge Fire Chief Frank Rizzio was driving a tanker truck when it was totalled in a rollover wreck Wednesday evening on the way to a structure fire in Avoca.
Rizzio was driving the county-owned truck, a 1985 Ford L9000 4,000-gallon tanker, south on U.S. 62. He was making a left turn onto Rose Street at the intersection in Avoca when the truck rolled over on its right side, according to the Arkansas State Police.
George Enke of the Arkansas State Police said he wrote Rizzio a warning for failure to maintain control. Rizzio was treated and released at the hospital.
P&J Trucking and Towing from Tontitown towed the truck.
