Girl who sent 'Columbine' tweet has court appearance

No plans to follow through

A 16-year-old girl took no steps to follow through with a tweet threatening to re-enact Columbine at Siloam Springs High School.

The teenage girl appeared in court Thursday afternoon where she pleaded not guilty to harrassing communications, a Class A misdemeanor.

The girl was arrested March 9 in response to her March 8, “Iam about to reenact columbine at siloam springs high school. #ihateyouall.” It was followed by “jk about the columbine, guys....”

Circuit Judge Mark Fryuaf explained to the girl that the charge accused her of acting with purpose to annoy or alarm another person with the tweet about re-enacting Columbine.

Deputy Prosecutor Bryan Sexton told the judge that the girl and her family cooperated with police when confronted about the Tweet.

The judge ordered that the girl be released into the custody of her mother.

The girl was ordered not to use any device that will allow her access to the Internet. She was also ordered to to have any contact with three other female students at the school.
