Former Razorback qualifies in Jamaica

— Veronica Campbell-Brown (Arkansas Razorbacks) qualified for the London Olympics in the women’s 100-meter final with a time of 10.82 seconds Friday night in the Jamaican Olympic trials.

Campbell-Brown finished second to defending Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who won in a Jamaican record 10.70 seconds. Kerron Stewart (10.94) was third.

Also, Yohan Blake got out of the blocks fast and finished the men’s 100-meter final in 9.75 seconds to upset world record holder Usain Bolt by 0.11 seconds.

Asafa Powell will join them at the Olympics, after finishing in 9.88.

Blake is the reigning world champion, but Bolt didn’t run in last year’s race in South Korea after being disqualified for a false start. This was their first rematch and their first real race since then.
