Tesla coils to 'play' at Museum of Discovery

Twin harmonic Tesla coils "played" several songs, including Led Zeppelin, today at the Museum of Discovery during a test of the upcoming display.

The coils produce varying electrical currents, and the vibrations can be arranged to play familiar songs.

Museum personal began this afternoon's testing to prepare for a future display. After staff are trained in the next few weeks, the coils should be ready for the public.

The coils will be part of the Awesome Science program series and will educate people about electricity and electrical currents.
