Mayor Doug Sprouse today joined a growing list of Northwest Arkansas leaders to declare a burn ban.
The ban, which started as soon as Sprouse signed a proclamation, also bans the shooting of fireworks, except those with permits from the state fire marshal, said Kevin McDonald, Springdale assistant fire chief.
Bentonville, Fayetteville and Springdale have now banned personal fireworks use.
