Siloam Springs Rodeo Payout Lower For 2012 Event

— The 54th annual Siloam Springs Rodeo finished with a purse of $26,069.44 and a total payout of just more than $28,000 with the addition of junior barrel racing and mutton busting events, rodeo officials reported last week.

The total payout was $28,104.44, which was down from last year’s reported figure of more than $29,000.

The rodeo, which was held June 14-16 at Siloam Springs Rodeo Grounds, played host to a full crowd on its opening night and standing room only crowds on its last two nights, according to Siloam Springs Riding Club member Karen Davis.

“This year was outstanding for our club,” Davis said. “The community and surrounding communities came out in full force to support our rodeo.”

Bareback riding

D.V. Fennell and Stetson Cravens both scored 79 and tied for first place in bareback riding and each took home a cash prize of $525.74.

Clayton Lawson was third with a score of 76 and won $300.42.

Ty Gray and Zack Kiestler each scored 75 and won $75.11.

Barrel racing

Kynder Starr scored 17.182 and won first place in barrel racing and took home a cash prize of $1,169.93.

Brittany Hurley was second with a score of 17.271 and won $926.19.

Sallye Williams scored 17.42 and won $779.95 for third place.

Placing fourth in barrel racing was Kara Fox, who scored a 17.442 and won $633.71.

Scoring a 17.459 was Ashleigh Baugh and she won $487.47.

Lucinda Bengston scored a 17.478 and won $389.98.

Jodi Ray scored 17.49 and won $292.48 in seventh place, while Kaci Starkey was eighth with a score of 17.498 and won $194.99.

Breakaway roping

Kelly Smith and Kendra Chinn tied for first place in breakaway roping with scores of 3 and each won cash prizes of $774.54.

Ashleigh Baugh and Jackie Jo Adams tied for third place with scores of 3.1 and won $482.26.

In fifth place was Hannah Springer with a score of 3.4 and she won $263.05.

Kasi Prather finished sixth with a score of 3.9 and won $146.14.

Bull riding

Tim Jeter was the only reported winner in bull riding, scoring 65 and taking home the largest winning of $2,013.10.

Calf roping

Jon Titsworth finished in first place in calf roping with a score of 8.6 and won $814.27.

Ross Dotson finished second with a score of 8.7 and won $644.63.

Billy Hamilton placed third overall with a score of 8.8 and won $542.85.

Nathan Ponder finished fourth with a score of 9 and won $441.06.

Ethan Hill and Legend Mills tied for fifth with scores of 9.3 and each won $305.35.

Cheyenne Stanley finished seventh with a score of 9.5 and won $203.57.

Clay Singleton finished eighth with a score of 9.6 and won $135.72.

Ranch saddle bronc

Blaine Stacy was the only winner of the ranch saddle bronc and took home a prize of $96.90.

Saddle bronc riding

Sean Prater won first place in saddle bronc riding with score of 81 and earning a prize of $723.48.

Todd Leftwich scored 78 and won $542.61.

Will Abshure was third with a score of 77 and won $361.74.

Andrew Harris had a score of 76 and won $180.87.

Steer wrestling

Casey Greer and Denard Butler finished in a tie for first place in steer wrestling. Each finished with a score of 3.4 and won a cash prize of $707.47.

Chance Howard placed third with a score of 3.5 and won $526.50.

Jason Stewart was fourth with a score of 3.8 and won $427.78.

Walt Sherry was fifth with a score of 3.9 and won $329.06.

Brandon Sleeth finished sixth with a score of 4 and won $263.25.

Josh Hammer finished with a score of 4.1 and won $197.44.

Dale Abshure and Jake Morgan finished with a tie for eighth place with a score of 4.3 and each won $65.81.

Team roping

The team of Mackey Tull and Brad Amos finished first in team roping with a score of 5 and won $894.32.

The team of Jake Weddle and Coleman Proctor and the team of Blake Larmon and Dustin Buffer tied for second place with scores of 5.1. Each team won $663.03.

The team of Paul Hefner and Kyle Burger had a score of 5.5 and finished fourth and won $431.74.

The team of Destry Graham and Justin Fox had a score of 5.6 and won $277.55.

The team of Scott Lassiter and Kyle Horton and the team of Weston Jones and Chip Hamilton finished in a tie for sixth with scores of 5.7 and won $77.10.

Mutton busting

On June 14, Collier Buck of Siloam Springs placed first in the mutton busting with a score of 87. Clara Butler of Siloam Springs was second with an 85, while Kimber Haggard of Siloam Springs was third with a 64.

On June 15, Dylan McReynolds of Siloam Springs took first place in mutton busting with a score of 85. Cale Kitchen of Siloam Springs was second at 84, while Caleb Pearson of Siloam Springs was third at 80.

On the final day, June 16, Olivia Speed of Gentry, won first place in the mutton busting with a score of 87. Rachel Davis of Siloam Springs was second at 85, while Haden Bates of Gravette was third at 82. Aveary Speed of Siloam Springs was fourth at 81.

Junior barrel racing

1D

Destiny Watkins of Springdale won the 1D junior barrels on June 14 with a score of 17.686. Kodi Forinash of Siloam Springs was second at 18.115. Kennedy Edwards of Springdale was third at 18.130.

On June 15, Savannah Pearson of Siloam Springs won the 1D barrels with a score of 17.254. Cassidy McKee of Siloam Springs was second at 17.557, while Emily Piazza of Kansas, Okla., was third at 17.708. Megan Trammell of Siloam Springs was fourth at 17.775.

On June 16, Kirstie Williams of Leach, Okla., took first place in the 1D barrels with a score of 17.708. Lindsey Thompson of Kansas, Okla., was second at 18.284, while Jaiden Wilmoth of Gentry was third at 18.489.

2D

Karadie Ory of Gentry won the 2D barrels on June 14 with a score of 18.699. Bailey Ory of Gentry was second at 18.763, while Kennedy Clark of Gravette was third at 19.159.

Kodi Forinash of Siloam Springs won the 2D barrels on June 15 with a score of 18.284, while Emily Linn of Siloam Springs was second at 18.597. Jenny Earp of Siloam Springs was third at 18.632, while Bailey Ory of Gentry was fourth at 18.797.

Samantha Curran of Gentry won the 2D barrels on June 16 with a score of 18.747. Karadie Ory was second at 18.926, while Shelby Lowe of Watson, Okla., was third at 19.122.

3D

Breanna Robrahn of Siloam Springs took first place in the 3D barrels on June 14 with a score of 19.699. Emily Linn of Siloam Springs was second at 19.807, while Kodi Starkey was third at 20.800.

Samantha Curran of Gentry won the 3D barrels on June 15 with a score of 19.296. Karadie Ory of Gentry was second at 19.368, while Melody Griscom of Lincoln was third at 19.813. Breanna Robrahn of Siloam Springs was fourth at 20.233.

In the 3D barrels on June 16, Niki Ames of Siloam Springs won first place with a score of 19.963. Maggie Passmore of Rose, Okla., was second at 20.026. Sammy Jo Moore of Rose, Okla., was third at 20.676.
