JONESBORO — Authorities have arrested a woman who was allegedly pretending to be a nurse at a Jonesboro hospital.

Police say the woman was arrested Wednesday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center. Jonesboro television station KAIT reports the woman was dressed in blue scrubs with a stethoscope around her neck at the time of her arrest.

According to police, the woman told authorities that she was a nursing student at Arkansas State University in Newport but investigators were unable to confirm that.

Police say the woman had gone to the hospital every day this week, but it’s not known whether she was caring for patients.

The hospital says the woman has been banned from its premises.
