ELLEN TERESA MATTINGLY DAILEY of Little Rock died June 23,2012. She was born December 9, 1920, to the late Thomas Mattingly and the late Myrtle Vick Mattingly. Mrs. Dailey and her husband, the late Dalton J. Dailey Sr., owned and op- Office Furnitureerated Dailey’sand Dalton Dailey and Associates Auction Company where she was employed until her death. She was a devoted member of Holy Souls Catholic Church and past member of Executive Women International.

All who knew her describe her as a matriarch who was the epitome of goodness, generosity, graciousness and love for all. She truly was a gift from God.

Survivors include three children: Jim Dailey (Patti), Kathy Dailey Hightower (Ray) and Stephanie Dailey Kelley (Hank); 10 grandchildren: Laura Dailey Carter (Mark), Donna Dailey (John Kerr), Dr. D.J. Dailey III, Jeff Dailey, Ryan Hightower (Stacy), Kristie Hightower Obert (Rich), Natalie Kelley Lueders (Dave), Jonathan Kelley (Margaret), Nicholas Kelley (Kadee), and Grace Kelley; 10 great-grandchildren: quadruplets: Michael, Katherine, Ashley, and Leslie Carter, Mary and Morgan Dailey, Gabrielle and Sydney Hightower, Edgar Kelley, and Grant Lueders; brothers,John Mattingly and T.J. Mattingly (Cathy) her sister and best friend, Frances McCroskey; brother-inlaw, Dr. Frank Dailey, lifetime friend, Thelma Russell, and several special nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Mattingly.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler, Little Rock. Family interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. JOSEPHINE ANN ANDRIA DURHAM, 62, of Maumelle, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2012. “Jo” was born in Uniontown, Pa., on December 5, 1949, to Amadee Andria Sr. and Julia F. Graziani Andria. She graduatedfrom Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse in West Virginia and later in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Harvey William “Bill” Durham on October 10, 1969. They moved with their children to Little Rock from Clarksburg, West Virginia in 1979. She worked as a recovery room nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock for many years and spent the last years of her career as a school nurse for the Pulaski County Special School District. She loved medicine and loved making people feel better, especially children.

Jo and her family attend Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. She adored cooking for people and was an excellent teacher of handed-down Italian family recipes. She always looked for opportunities to serve the church, her friends and her family through cooking. Jo also enjoyed singing. She has been amember of several choruses in central Arkansas including the Choral Society, Sweet Adelines, Arkansas Symphony Chorus and her church choir.

Jo was the wife of Bill and the mother of Shana Lyn Peerson, of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Phillip James and wife Tracie Alfonso Durham of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Nonnie to four dearly beloved grandchildren: AJ Peerson, Abbie Durham, Aubrie Durham and Charlie Durham.

JIMMIE T. ROGERS, 82, of North Little Rock, passed away on June21, 2012. Jimmie was a Korean War veteran and a member of Elk’s Lodge No. 1004, in addition to a member of the American Legion.

WINFRED STRICKLIN, age 80, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012. He was born March 11, 1932 in Conway, Ark. Mr. Stricklin was retired from the Pulaski County Road Department and of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a lifetime memberof the Mary Williams Lodge #307, 32nd Degree Masons and the Scottish Rites.

Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by his parents, Quincie and Clistie Stricklin; wife, Elsie Stricklin; son, James Stricklin and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Stricklin and wife Sherry of Benton and George Stricklin and wife Cathy of Benton; two daughters, Glenda Nix and husband Pete of Benton and Ann Rodgers and husband Michael of Little Rock; 18 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

CLINTON - Mrs. Barbara Janette (Kresse) Beem, 78, of Clinton, Ark., daughter of Herman J. and Felicia (Paramore) Kresse passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at her home. She was born February 7, 1934, at North Little Rock, Ark., in the home ofher grandparents Herman Joseph and Emma Kresse.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; brother, Lawrence (Larry) Kresse; nephew, Mark Kresse; friends, Wilma and Charlie Driver. She leaves behind her brother, Herman J. Kresse; her sister, Linda Kresse Tinnon; her husband, Charles Vernon Beem of 57 years; their sons Richard Alan and Beverly (Ingram), and Brian Keith and Lea Ann (Fletcher) Beem; five grandchildren, Parker, Cameron, Sydney, Caleb, and Trent; and many close friends and family.

She was a 1952 graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s Academy in Little Rock, Ark., and she taught art for two years at Saint Patrick’s. She volunteered for six years with the remedial reading group in Clinton Public School.She was the past president of the Clinton P.T.A. She was very active with her church at Saint Jude’s Catholic Church in Clinton where she was a longtime member of the altar society. She was a board member at the Clinton Library when Clinton flooded and was instrumental in obtaining funds for the new library.

CONWAY - Phillip Wayne Helton, 58, of Conway, passed awayJune 11, 2012. He was born December 14, 1953, in Little Rock. He was a member of Arkansas Cherokee Nation (aka-Chickamauga Cherokee of Arkansas) and served in the Air Force.

He is survived by a son, Corey Michael Helton of North Little Rock; a daughter, Alysha Ann Helton of Cabot; brother, Wilburn Helton of Houston, Texas; sisters, Pat Helton of Conway, Glendle Griggs of Camden, and Diane Hensley of El Paso, Ark.; half brothers and sisters, Marcus Loyd Donham of Beebe, Lindy Ann Muhl, Cindy Lynn Wurst, Bobby Lee Donham, and Johnny Floyd Donham, all of Dallas, Texas, Gary Wayne Donham of San Antonio, Texas, Timothy Scott of Kingman, Ariz., George Allen Donham of Utah, and Pamela Kay Donham of Marysville, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Floyd and Lola Fern Helton; his wife, Susan Arrington Helton; and by a sister, Fern Helton.

DUMAS - Matthew Huxley Lewellen, 35, of Dumas, Arkansas, was born August 17, 1976, in Dumas, Arkansas, and was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Lewellen. Matt passed away on June 22, 2012, in Dumas, Arkansas. Matt was a member of Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church and employed as Assistant Clinic Manager at Dr. Lewellen Medical Clinic. Matt’s favorite hobbies included music, art and ancient history; he loved to watch and call birds, and was an animal advocate.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tommy Lewellen, and maternal grandfather, Norwood Hill. Survivors are his parents Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Lewellen of Dumas, Arkansas, and his brother, Thomas “Todd” Lynn Lewellen, Jr., of Lexington, Kentucky; and also his paternalgrandmother, Polly Lewellen, and maternal grandmother, Faye Hill, both of Dumas, Arkansas.

GRIFFITHVILLE - Wanda Faye Bailey (Mammaw), 83, ofGriffithville, Ark., departed this life June 25, 2012. She was born March 26, 1929, to the late Jim and Carrah Belle Harris of Griffithville.

She was preceded in death by her son BillyCollins and is survived by her husband, Donald Bailey; three children Carmon Collins (Gail), Donna Conder (John), and Jimmy Collins (Regina); three grandchildren Leah Henry (Britt), Chad Conder, and Kristin Collins; two great-grandchildren Hope and Jude Henry; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Wanda was the matriarch of her family, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a best friend. She enjoyed spending her time with her husband and family. She was compassionate, yet strong willed, and always willing to help others with a sympathetic ear or sharing a kind word. Her sensibility and soft spoken manner was always a comfort during difficult times. As Wanda has left this earth behind, her spirit, strength, and her love will be with each of us in our hearts and minds forever.

As each of us in our own time will move from this world to the next, our love for each other is constant and eternal; it carries on within each person’s heart and lives we have touched. This has never been more prevalent than with Wanda. She will be loved and missed each and every day.

ORE CITY, Texas - Tony S. Pyle, formerly of Bauxite, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Ore City, Texas due to a motorcycle accident. Tony was born on December 10, 1957, in El Dorado, Arkansas to Charles and Louise Pyle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rita Rutledge. Tony had a love of motorcycles since he was 9. He loved being with his family, the outdoors and he was an animal lover. Tony was a master electrician for many years, and was awonderful husband and father.

Tony is survived by his wife, Becky, of 13 years; 11-year-old daughter, Mackenzie; sister, Carol and brother-in-law, Wade; sister, Donna and brother-in-law, Marlon; brother, Chuck and sisterin-law, Tina; and a sister Teresa; along with several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be an informal memorial service held at Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, June 30th at 10 a.m. in Atkins, Arkansas.
