Department Attains Accreditation

— The Fire Department received notice Tuesday the department has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.

The process “allowed us to ensure we meet industry best practices and ensure we meet the stringent requirements set forth by the commission,” according to a statement from the department.

Rogers is the only fire-based ambulance service in the state to ear the accreditation and one of three fire departments nationwide accredited for both fire and emergency medical services, according to the news release.

The Commission of Accreditation of Ambulance Services is an independent commission that established a comprehensive series of standards for the ambulance service industry, according to its website.

Accreditation signifies the service has met the gold standard determined by the ambulance industry to be essential in a modern emergency medical services provider. The standards often exceed those established by state or local regulation, according to the website.
