— ATHLETICS Ten chosen for UA hall

Ten former Arkansas Razorbacks from football, basketball baseball and track and field have been elected to the UA Sports Hall of Honor 2012 induction class, the UA has announced.

Football players in the class are Bill McClard, Bruce Maxell, Terry Stewart and Dennis Winston. Basketball is represented by Andrew Lang and Clyde Rhoden; baseball by Ronn Reynolds; men’s track and field by Edrick Floreal and women’s track and field by Jody Rittenhouse and Lisa Sparks.

Sparks’ husband, former Arkansas basketball player Darrell Walker, was inducted into the UA Sports Hall of Honor in 2008.

The 10 inductees were elected in a vote by former Arkansas letter-winners in conjunction with the A Club and competed in era spanning 1960 through 1990.

An induction banquet will be held Aug. 31 - the Friday night before Arkansas’ football season opener against Jacksonville (Ala.) State - at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Springdale.
