PB man, 29, gets 6 years in murder

— A 29-year old Pine Bluff man was sentenced to six years in prison for second-degree murder Friday in Circuit Judge Jodi Dennis’ court, according to the judge’s office.

Michael Thomas had originally been charged with capital murder, but the jury decided on the lesser charge.

According to police, Thomas’ charges stemmed from the shooting death of Kendrell Kirkland, 24, of Pine Bluff at a local gas station April 9, 2011.
