Man dies in Fayetteville after working in high heat

— A coroner says a 39-year-old has died from heat stroke after working in the extreme heat this weekend at the University of Arkansas.

Washington County Coroner Roger Morris says the man had an internal temperature of 109 degrees when he was taken to the hospital on Sunday. Morris says he died Monday evening.

The man’s name hasn’t been released yet.

Morris says the man was working at the University of Arkansas campus on Sunday when he became disoriented and had a headache.

Temperatures reached into the upper 90s in Fayetteville on Sunday.
