ON TV CONTEST

— When it comes to comedy, what do you prefer? The gentle laughs of a family show like Leave It to Beaver? Or the no holds-barred wackiness of Community?

For the On TV Contest, the judge asks: What is your favorite sitcom and why?

To enter, simply select a half-hour, scripted comedy series and let the judge know why it’s the jewel of the TV comedy crown.

Do remember that “reality” shows and hour-long series are forbidden here. So even if Toddlers and Tiaras or Moonlighting makes you laugh more than any other series, you aren’t allowed to write about them.

The entry can take any form you like as long as you explain your choice. The judge appreciates humor and creativity as much as the next fictional judge.

Send the entry (one per contestant), including your mailing address and daytime phone number, to Jennifer Nixon at 121 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72201; or by e-mail to [email protected]. Entries must be received no later than 3 p.m. July 9.

The reader with the best-written entry will get to choose from Judge Nixon’s Fabulous Prize Pile of TV DVD sets.

Who can enter: Anyone except the winner of the last contest, Judy Thornton of Clarksville, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC employees.

Note to privacy-conscious readers: We do not compile lists of mail or e-mail addresses for evil plots or marketing purposes. All entries are destroyed after the judge has selected her winner.
