Dr. Shawn Brown is joining FirstCare Springdale clinic and will start seeing patients Aug. 13. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo., and completed his internship and residency in family medicine at UAMS AHEC-NW.
Michael Ferguson has joined Liberty Bank of Arkansas as vice presidentfor lending.

Thompson in Springdale.
Ferguson, an 11-year banking veteran,has been in commercial lending for the past seven years. A lifelong resident of Fayetteville, Ferguson obtained a degree in agriculture business from the University of Arkansas.
Bentley Story has been named director of business development at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission in Little Rock. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and investments and a master’s degree in business administration, both from the University of Arkansas.
He joined the commission’s Business Development Division as a project manager in 2007.
Dr. Johnny Pearce, has joined My Dentist Complete Care Dentistry in Springdale.
Pearce received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1984 and hasbeen in private practice since The office, 3617 W. Sunset Ave., opened in May and is accepting new patients.
Shane Acosta, complex general manager of Cargill in Springdale, is the Poultry Federation’s 2012 Industry Leader of the Year. Acosta has served on The Poultry Federation’s Processors Workshop Committee for more than 12 years, and he is credited for being instrumental in the annual growth of the workshop and vendor sponsorships, according to the Federation.
He also is credited with recruiting new members and sponsors for the annual poultry festival. He has worked at Cargill in various roles for more than 18 years. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
