DONNA SUE LYNCH ANDERSON, 68, of Little Rock died June22, 2012. She was born Dec. 17, 1943, in Little Rock to A.C. and Frances E. Lynch. Preceded in death by her father and her brother, Lynn G. Lynch, she is survived by her mother; herhusband of 47 years, Clyde W. Anderson; her daughter, Amber L. Anderson of Little Rock; and her son, Cris E. Anderson, daughter-in-law, Stephanie A. Anderson and grandson, Connor E. Anderson, all of Texarkana, Texas.

She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and participated for several years in Bible study programs at St. Andrew's Anglican Church and Fellowship Bible Church. Donna graduated from Little Rock Central in 1961 and continued her education at UALR. She maintained a close relationship with many of her high school grads throughout her life. She loved people and always found occasions to buy gifts for her friends.

A great artist, Donna loved painting, tennis leagues, homedecorating, flower arranging, making jewelry and playing Mah Jongg with friends. After raising her children, she re-entered the workforce, selling real estate for RPM and McKay Realty. She changed professions, selling printing for Arkansas Graphicsand Twin City Printing. In 1994, she followed her husband to Jonesboro where she worked for Creative Multigraphics; then returned to Little Rock where she began her own retail business, Sudie’s Collections, selling antique furniture and handmade flower arrangements. She was a member of Questers Antique Club and past member of Junior Departmental.

We will celebrate her life on Tuesday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.)

ROBERT "BOB" EDWARDS, age 79, of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord Friday, June 22, 2012. He was born April 3, 1933, in Vanduser, Mo., to the late Robert H. Edwards and Essie M. Edwards. He was a retired United States Air Force Veteran who served his country for 20 years. He also retired as a Representative and Counselor for the Arkansas Department of Veteran Affairs. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Jacksonville.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Glendola Wooldridge Edwards; his children, Sammy (Alice) Justus, Charlaine (J.R.) Hurt, Johnette (Carl) Hunter, Misty (Joe) Stanley; siblings, J.W. Edwards, Lionel Edwards, Wilma Hahs, Dorothy Hamada; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

DEBRA JO GAMBLE, 52, of Sherwood, Ark., passed awayThursday, June 21, 2012. She was born Sept. 27, 1959, in California.

She is preceded in death by her son, Justin Ray Phillips. She is survived by her husband, Dave Gamble;her daughter, Charla Miller; her mother, Jonelle McDaniel; and mother- and father-in-law, Roseanna and Arnold George; sisters, Teresa Marino (Edwin), Cindi Cozart (Mark), Jolynn Skelton (Jimmy); and brother, Brad Durrett (Tracie); grandchildren; Trenton, Haley, and Brayden; nieces and nephews, Chalice Kerr, Chevon Eaton, Natalie DeSilva, Joni Jones, Lindsay Hild, Sydney Halcumb, Bradley Durrett, Luke Durrett, Drake Durrett, Brittney Skelton, Jacob Daniels, Braum, Briley, Scarlett, Nick, Josh, Madeline, and Lollie; uncle and aunt, John and Ann Hardcastle; grandmother, Hazel "mema" Hild; cousin, Carrie Smith (Larry), and Mike Pafundi. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends.

Debra Jo, also known by some as DJ, was known for her loud and proud personality and voice. She had an amazing heart that provided an answer for everything for anyone she ever met. She was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird-watching, gardening and relaxing at the river. She enjoyed catering to her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and being able to be the host just so everyone could have a good time. She had a laugh that was infectious to everyone. The love she had for her Boston terriers was unrivaled and she never left home without them. She has a giving spirit when it came to other's pets as well. When you hear the name Debra Jo, you will always know, "I love you little, I love you big, I love you like a big fat pig."

MARTIN ANDREW JOHNS, 85, of Little Rock, passed away June 21, 2012. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Warren, Ark., to the late Virgil and Lucille Johns. Martin was a veteran of Korean War and WWII, serving in the Marines, Army and, later, Air Force Reserves. He was of Missionary Baptist faith, a Shriner and a 50 year Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Franklin Johns; grandson, Troy Trantham; onebrother and one sister.

Survivors: wife, Amanda Johns, Little Rock; sons, Robert Bruce Johns, Colorado Springs, Colo., Aaron Trantham of Vilonia, Ark.; daughter, Sharon Mangum, Benton; sister, Martha Temple, Warren; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

VENVELA CHRISTIAN RANNEY, age 87, of North Little Rockpassed away June 20, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry A “Boots” Ranney; her parents, Worthen and Vela Christian and two brothers, Raymond and Billy Christian.

She retired from Southwestern Bell after 40 years of service. After retirement, she worked for Riley South Nursing Home and Woodland Heights Retirement Center.

Venvela is survived by her loving son, Dr. Larry Ranney and his wife, Kathy of North Little Rock and Kathy’s two children, Andrew and Brian Cox. She will be missed greatly by her animal companions Molly, Samantha, and Gracie.

Graveside service will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander on Tuesday, June 26 at 10 a.m. conducted by Father Frank DuPreez. Memorials may be made to Pulaski County Humane Society.

JIMMIE T. ROGERS, 82, of North Little Rock, passed away on June21, 2012. Jimmie was a Korean War veteran and a member of Elk’s Lodge No. 1004, in addition to a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents,Dewitt Rogers and Ollie Hooper Rogers Roberts. He is survived by his children, Keith Rogers of Dallas, Kim Tucker (Bob) of Flower Mound, Texas, Karmen Myers (Ken) of Colleyville, Texas and Kyle Rogers of New Berlin, Wis.; one sister, Margie Payne of Little Rock; one nephew, Alan Mitchell of San Antonio; two nieces, Elisa Payne of Benton, Ark., and Janet Franks of Franklin, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Brittany, Cole, Lauren and Chris; one great-grandchild, Kaiden; one great-niece, Gabi, and three great-nephews, Mark, Ryan, Chris, and Patrick.

HODDY RUSSELL BROWN SITLINGTON died June 12, 2012. She was born in Little Rock on June 27, 1917. As a cradle Episcopalian, Hoddy served the Church at many levels including teaching young people, being a charter member of both St. Mark’s and St. Michael’s Episcopal Churches in Little Rock, serving on the Altar Guild, Building Committee, volunteer office secretary, and Vestry to name a few.

At the Diocesan Level she served on the Episcopal Churchwomen’s Board as educational chairperson and on the Camp Mitchell Board. She was a delegate to ECW Triennial in 1958. Hoddy was a member of the Women’s Emergency Committee to Open Our Schools organized in response to the Governor closing Little Rock schools after the desegregation of Central High. Hoddy was active in R.A.I.N. (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network) including founding a mothers support group.

Hoddy is predeceased by her husband, Joe, and sons, Bill, Mark, and Michael. She is survived by granddaughters, Laura of Little Rock and Carrie of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and daughter-in-law, Carol (Michael); surrogate son, Mark Hanson; life-long friend, Mary Jim Chickering, and a host of friends.

JAMES EDWARD TALBERT, Jimmy to his family and “Jet”to his friends and co-workers, passed away June 14, 2012.

He was born May 16, 1951, a lifelong resident of the Little Rock area having retired after 30 years of service with Southwestern Bell/AT&T. Jimmy was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Norma Jean Talbert of Benton. He is survived by a son, Aaron Talbert and his wife, Janet of Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Kathleen Jennings and her husband Davidof Monticello and Jeanine Hendrix and her husband Randy of Sheridan; two brothers, David Talbert and his wife Dixie of Jacksonville and Mark Talbert of Benton. He also had numerous nieces, nephews and loving family.

ADA MAE THOMAS SIMS VANN, 84, of North Little Rock, passedon June 21, 2012. She was born on Nov. 23, 1927 in Hickory Plains to Lealon Jacob and Ella Mae Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dewey Thomas, Dayton Thomas, Doyne Thomas; sisters, LuElla Walls, Linda Diane Johnston; daughter, Velma Louis Navra, and stepdaughter, Delphine Odom. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, L.T. (Pete) Vann;daughter, Fannie St. John of Jacksonville; son, Derrell Vann and wife Marilyn Vann of Jacksonville; daughter, Nancy Foster and husband Alan Foster of Greenbrier; daughter Renee Vann of Columbia, S.C.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her family and friends will remember her as a model southern lady that filled the roles of mother, wife, grandmother, and mother-in-law with grace.

ARKADELPHIA - Marjorie Lea Caddy, age 91, of Arkadelphia, died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Arkadelphia. She was born Jan. 3, 1921 in Sparkman, Ark. the daughter of the late W. P. and Mable Cardin Lea. Marjorie was a long time member of Manning Baptist Church and retired from the Arkadelphia Human Development Center.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Clarice Lea.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Caddy and wife, Jeanetta of Tyler, Texas, Morris Caddy and wife, Marie of Bismarck, Ark.; one daughter, Patricia “Pat” Waite of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

ARKADELPHIA - John Tony Cagle, age 68, of Arkadelphia died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home. He was born Sept. 9, 1943 in Malvern, Ark., the son of the late Otis Cagle and Alma Todd Cash. Tony was a car salesman in the Arkadelphia area for many years, a Army veteran and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. After retiring, he and his wife, Sherry enjoyed raising and competing with Jack Russell terriers.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Thomas Cagle; two children, James Miller and Laurie More; three grandchildren, Hannah More, Savannah Beard-Miller and Zachary Miller and his mother-in-law, Jessamine Thomas Bishop all of Arkadelphia.

BENTON - Judy Arnold, age 70, of Benton, passed away atSaline Memorial Hospice in Bryant on June 21, 2012.

Born in Stuttgart on March 21 1942, Judy was the first child born to Harold Lloyd and Juanita Stephenson. She ispredeceased by her parents.

Judy graduated from DeWitt High School in 1960 and Henderson State University in 1964. In 1965 she married Glen Arnold and they settled in Benton in 1974 to raise their family. She taught in the Benton school system from 1976 through 1996 and served in various capacities with the Retired Teacher’s Association thereafter. For many years she attended and led Bible Study Fellowship classes and was an active member at First Baptist Church, Benton. She spent her retirement years enjoying traveling, visiting with friends and family and helping raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Arnold of Benton; son, Steve Arnold of Benton; daughter Ann Marie Gibbs and husband Kenny of Little Rock. Also surviving is a sister, Catherine Anderson of Benton and four granddaughters, Suzanna, Stevie and Liza Gibbs of Little Rock and Annabelle Arnold of Benton.

A celebration of Judy’s life is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Benton with Ministers Clay Cunningham and Frances Raley officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church.

CONWAY - Daniel Paul Freyaldenhoven Jr., 72, of Conway,passed away June 21, 2012. He was born July 8, 1939, in Conway, to the late Daniel Paul and Rose (Andrews) Freyaldenhoven. Mr. Freyaldenhoven was the owner of the Bug Service Center, in Conway, from 1974-2002. He was a charter member of the Conway Morning Optimist Club, having served as secretary/treasurer for 20 plus years. He was a charter member of the Good Sam Chapter of the Little Rock Rock City Sams and a charter member of the Conway Toad Suck Sams. He was on the staff of the Arkansas Good Sams for 30 years, serving as the Arkansas State Director for seven years. He was a part of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Torch Run and worked the Special Olympic Games, in Searcy, for 20 years. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Special Olympics. Mr. Freyaldenhoven volunteered in the Fish Net Mission, in Jacksonville, twice a week.

Mr. Freyaldenhoven is survived by his wife, Shirley (Jones) Freyaldenhoven; two sons, Roger Freyaldenhoven (Jennifer) and Richard Freyaldenhoven (Danielle); three daughters, Dana Freyaldenhoven, Diane Worm (Albert) and Stacy Kirby (Scott); four brothers, Bob Freyaldenhoven (Sharon), Kenneth “Buck” Freyaldenhoven (Judy), Larry Freyaldenhoven (Brenda) and David Freyaldenhoven (Debbie); three sisters, Dorothy Miller, Rosemary Paladino (Frank) and Martha Nash (Greg); 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

EL DORADO - James “Jim” Wallace Garison, 91, of El Dorado, Ark., died on June 22, 2012 at Courtyard Nursing Home.

Born on Feb. 11, 1921 in El Dorado, Ark., he was the son of John Proctor Garison and Patty Wallace Garison. Lt. Garisonserved as a pilot in the “237th Fly Boys” in Army Air Corps during World War II. He attended Hendrix College and graduated from the University of Missouri where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Upon returning to El Dorado he joined his family’s firm J.P. Garison and Company. James served on the Board of Directors of the Exchange Bank from 1969 to 1993.

Active in the community, James was a Boy Scout leader and was instrumental in the building of the Desoto Boy Scout Camp. A person of deep personal faith Jim told his wife Shirley “I am glad our children go to Church.” He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where he taught a well attended youth Sunday School Class keeping the same children for several years. Jim enjoyed nature through his gardening, golf, tennis and snow skiing in Colorado. He skied until he was 80 years young. He loved to huntturkey, deer, ducks and trout fish in Montana and Colorado. Sam Cyphers said Jim’s “compass always read true.”

James was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law David Kiernan. Survivors are his wife, Shirley Martin Garison of El Dorado; daughters, Carol Kiernan of Little Rock, SuzanneGarison of Snowmass Village, Colo.; sons, James “Jim” Wallace (Jerri) Garison Jr. of Frisco, Texas, and Andrew “Andy” Martin (Kay) Garison of Little Rock; a brother, Jack (Jane) Garison of Hot Springs Village, along with a granddaughter, Rebecca Garison and a grandson, Andrew Garison Jr.

MORRILTON - Edward L. “Ed” Underwood, age 53, of Morrilton,passed away at home, Thursday, June 21, 2012. He was born Jan. 27, 1959, in Modesto, Calif., a son of Carroll D. Underwood and Juanita Trusty Pierson. He and his wife were team overthe road truck drivers and he loved being out on the road. RUSSELLVILLE - Roberta Virginia Coe Biggers of Russellvillepassed away on Friday, June 22, 2012, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 18, 1918, at Tuckerman, to William Walter and Ruth Bliss Coe. She was a graduate ofTuckerman High School and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She taught fifth grade in Newport for 25 years, and, following her retirement, moved to Russellville.

She was a member of three bridge clubs, two which met on Monday and one which met on Thursday. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was in the P. K. Merrill Sunday School Class and Circle I.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. C. Biggers; a brother, Robert Bliss Coe, and a great-niece, Alyssa Little.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James Coe and Marie Biggers of Russellville; two daughters, Mary Bliss Biggers Jackson and Jayne Biggers White, both of Maumelle; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey Toler and his wife, Gail, and Mark Toler and his wife, Julie, all of Atlanta, Ga., Kimberly White Jenkins and her husband, Tim, of Maumelle, Amanda White De Journett and her husband, Jamie, of Supply, Ark., Jayme Biggers Jones and her husband, Carter, of Rogers, and Coe Biggers and his wife, Miki, of Fayetteville; sixgreat-grandchildren, Autumn Bliss Toler, Allie and Justin De Journett, Madison Jenkins, and Ellie and Mayes Jones; two sisters, Rosemary Coe Hubbard of Conway, and Margaret Ann Coe Huckabee and her husband, Charles, of Irving, Texas; as well as several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

SHERIDAN - Sylvia Glover Rivenburg, 94, of Sheridan, Ark., was born in Lonoke County, Ark., on April 25, 1918, and died in Grant County, Ark., on June 21, 2012. She spent over 52 years of her life in Hop Bottom, Pa. Most recently, "Aunt Sis" resided at Crown Point Assisted Living and Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab Center in Sheridan. She was married to Russell Rivenburg after meeting himduring World War II when he was stationed in Stuttgart, Ark. Together they owned and operated Rivenburg Investments. Although they had no children, their pets were always treated as such and brought them immense joy.

Mrs. Rivenburg is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Rivenburg, parents, Lewis M. And Francis Glover, two brothers, William "Bill" and Carl Glover, and a sister, Dorothy Lee Glover.

She is survived by two nephews, Larry and Ronnie Glover, and one niece, Patricia Ann Moore, and their families.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Crown Point Assisted Living Center and Sheridan Health & Rehab for their love and care during her time there.

SHERIDAN - Mrs. Valeta Marie Johnson Young of Sheridan, Ark .,age 82, died June 22, 2012 at home of complications from acute Myathenia-Garvis.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, Paul H. Johnson and Mary Lessie Ault Johnson, and heroldest sister, Lola Newson Wortman. They were the two oldest of Mr. And Mrs. Johnson's six daughters. Others that survive are four sisters, Bonnie Jean (Derek) Blackford, Martha (Chuck) Sneed, Mary Lee (Les) DeBono and Reba Nell Cargile. Also, her husband with whom she would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on June 30, Frank Lee Young; her daughter, Mary Ellen Young Ewing; her granddaughter, Jamie Ewing of North Little Rock; and her grandson, Paul Talmadge Ewing and his wife, Mary E. Regenald Ewing, of Benton. Great grandchildren, thepride and joy of her life, a good bragging topic and their accomplishments were Emma Grace, James Elliot Thomas, Mary Margaret Jeanne and Charlotte Elizabeth Rose.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was employed for many years as a medical receptionist for three local doctors. She made many friends at work for the public and in her church. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. In the records, there are listed seven generations of her family, beginning along about the establishment of the church. She loved her Lord, her church and worked and served in the church in many activities including Church Clerk for 17 years, Sunday School and Bible School teachers, youth leader and Ladies Auxiliary. Her church and work were her main interests in life.

After their retirement, Valeta and Frank Lee traveled in their RV, visiting all four borders of the U.S., many of the famous sites and lots of relatives. This was a great adventure for them.

Valeta was proud of her family as they were early settlers and political beginners (beginning with T.A. Morris, First Judge of Grant County) and her greatgrandfather Miles Wilson who was a surviving Civil War Veteran. They established a homestead on Grant 8 and in this house is where Valeta was born. Most of the families were farmers, including Valeta’s father.

VAN BUREN - Julius E. “Jude” Brumett, 82, of Van Buren, Ark .,passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Lonoke, Ark., to Allen and Minnie Brumett. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Betty Sue Norton Brumett; his parents, Allen and Minnie Brumett, and a brother, Joe Allen Brumett.

Jude served his country proudly in both the U.S. Navy and the Seabees. He was a retired nursing home administrator where he worked in Little Rock with wife, Betty, for 35 years. He was a Mason, a former deacon at Caney Missionary Baptist Church in Bismarck, Ark. He attended the Heritage United Methodist Church of Van Buren. Jude spent the last years of his life under the loving care of the tremendous staff at Crawford Health Care and Rehab in Van Buren, Ark.

Honorary pallbearers will be Uncle Jude’s nephews.
