PUBLIC VIEWPOINT Walmart Welcome In Bella Vista

I support the rezoning of Betty Garcia’s property to commercial. I am a resident of Bella Vista and a Neighborhood Market would help me and my family in several ways.

I was born in Bentonville and have lived in the Bentonville/Bella Vista area the entire time. I have enjoyed the quiet smalltown feel, but the village is growing at a rapid rate.

We need more businesses, especially low-price businesses. Currently we have only a handful of grocery stores and pharmacies and with a town of more than 22,000 that is just too few businesses.

I do most of my shopping at either the Supercenter in Jane, Mo., or Bentonville.

There are times when I have to go grab something thatwas forgotten or an item I need on the way home.

I usually will either go to Allen’s or the Walgreen’s because of the distance to the nearest Walmart.

I love the customer service at Allen’s and the quality of some of their items, but the prices in comparison to Walmart are usually substantially higher. My wife and I have four children at home, therefore we are on a budget with six people at home. We could go to Bentonville or Jane to get those items, but with the high gas prices it just doesn’t make sense.

Bella Vista is lacking tax revenue. I would support just about any business within reason that came into the city. I know Walmart would provide tens of thousands of dollars in tax revenue to thecity each year. The location Walmart is looking at rezoning also makes sense.

Having a Neighborhood Market in Bella Vista would help because of my trust in the Walmart name.

I also wouldn’t have to fear that they would leave a vacant building in the future. That is all too common with businesses now.

I am in favor of a Walmart in Bella Vista and am willing to help out in any way possible.

NOW IS THE TIME TO BUILDWhat is the right choice? A second high school is not only the right choicefor the kids, it’s the smart choice for the taxpayer. A second high school provides a long-term solution to a school that is already busting at the seams. And, with historical low interest rates, now is the time to build!

By not voting yes, you are postponing the inevitable and you will have to pay more money in the end.

Does Bentonville provide its students a great education?

Yes, it does. But, the school is now beginning to see diminishing returns because of the sheer number of students who are crammed into BHS. Do you want our youth or your property values to suffer? Vote yes on June 26 - it’s the smart and right decision.
