Opera ready for 62nd season today
Opera in the Ozarks in Eureka Springs will begin its 62nd season tonight with a performance of Mozart’s Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute). The other two shows chosen for this season are Giacomo Puccini’s opera La Boheme and Stephen Sondeim’s musical A Little Night Music.
Performances are planned through July 20 at Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony Theatre. Curtain time is 7:30 on performance nights; tickets are $20-$25.
The opera will also perform shows at the Arend Arts Center in Bentonville at 4 p.m. July 1, 8 and 15.

- ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE Charity to host True Grit Ride 100
The Community Services Clearinghouse will host the inaugural True Grit Ride 100 starting at 7 a.m. Saturday at Ben Geren Regional Park in Fort Smith.
The event will include 100-, 50- and 35-mile routes plus a 10-mile family fun ride. The ride will benefit Clearinghouse, which provides emergency assistance to children and families in seven Arkansas and Oklahoma counties.
Clearinghouse programs include the Meals for Kids program, which distributes more than 2,500 weekend snacks for low-income children. More information is available online at truegritride.com.
