FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayetteville Public Library is hosting an animal extravaganza for children from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the library’s Rock Street entrance.
The event will feature the Arkansas Game & Fish Mobile Aquarium; Barnyard Buddies petting zoo; Ranger, the city’s Pet Ranger’s Pantry mascot; as well as dogs available for adoption from the Animal Shelter.
The event kicks off the summer food drive for Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank, a program providing pet food to families facing financial difficulties.
Children are encouraged to bring dog and cat food. Donations may be brought to the Children’s Desk at the library through July 13.
The city Fire Department and the Community Services Division will also be accepting pet food donations. Cash donations may be mailed to the Community Services Office, 113 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, AR 72701.
