FAYETTEVILLE — A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will close inside lanes of Interstate 540 between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Wedington Drive starting Tuesday.
The closings will continue for several months. They will be between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. so the contractor can access the area needed to add a third lane in both directions.
APAC-Central Inc. of Fayetteville is the contractor for the $5.8 million project.
Increased traffic enforcement is planned for the work area, according to the Highway Department.
