Man Gets Six Years For Assaulting Boy

— Jerry Parham pleaded guilty Monday to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy and was sentenced to six years in prison. His trial in Benton County Circuit Court was set to begin today.

He admitted to fourth-degree sexual assault, a class D felony. Parham will face a nine-year suspended sentence after serving his prison time. Parham was also ordered to have no contact with children under the age of 18 except his own children.

The assault took place in September at the 8th Street Motel in Rogers, where Parham was living at the time, according to court documents.

Parham, 26, was charged as a habitual offender, which could have carried up to 15 years in prison. He was convicted of lewd molestation in 2003, larceny in 2004, failure to register as a sex offender in 2005 and failure to comply with registration requirements in 2009, according to court documents.
