Authorities are investigating after finding a dead man in a vehicle yesterday, according to a report from the North Little Rock Police Department.
Officers responded to Springhill Baptist Hospital around 2 a.m. Friday after a man claimed he had been assaulted and robbed while he was walking on North I Street in North Little Rock.
He said the person or people who attacked him were driving a white vehicle and that the vehicle may still have been in the area of the incident, the report said.
Officers traveled to the area the man indicated and found a white vehicle parked in the center of North I Street near the 900 block. An unresponsive man was in the driver's seat, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, the report said. The man was later identified as Gary Lynn Williams, 52, of Jacksonville.
The Arkansas State Crime Lab will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Authorities are not releasing the name of the robbery victim, pending the investigation.
