Ground broken on Razorback Greenway

Posted: June 12, 2012 at 12:27 p.m.

Officials broke ground today on the Razorback Greenway.

Work has officially begun on a 16-mile stretch of the 36-mile Razorback Greenway.

The system will link trails from Lake Bella Vista to south Fayetteville. Parts of the Razorback Greenway are complete, built by the cities themselves.

Speakers for the groundbreaking ceremony said that if the trails are built they will see use.

"When we build these projects they not only come they enjoy them," said Chuck Flink, president of Alta/Greenways and lead designer for the Greenway.

Today’s groundbreaking was for the 16-mile segment to be built by federal funding.
