— Arkansas Northeastern College President Robin Myers was selected Monday as the second chancellor of the Arkansas State University campus in Mountain Home, ASU System President Charles Welch said.

Myers, who has been president at Arkansas Northeastern since 2005, will begin his duties at ASU-Mountain Home on Aug. 1. He was chosen after a three-month process that gathered 69 applicants for the position.

Myers’ annual salary at ASU-Mountain Home will be $176,826.

Myers also served Arkansas Northeastern as the vice president of instruction from 1994 to 2004, the dean for community education and college advancement from 1996-98, associate dean and then dean for continuing and community education from 1992-96, and the coordinator of the Business and Industry Resource Center from 1989-92.

He received Bachelor of Science degrees in marketing and in accounting from ASU, a Master of Science in operations management from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a doctorate of education from the University of Memphis.

During his tenure at Arkansas Northeastern, Myers oversaw the merger between Mississippi County Community College and the Cotton Boll Technical Institute, the construction of a wellness center and a new nursing and allied health facility, the creation of the Great River Promise Scholarship program and implementation of several offsite instructional centers and programs.

“Dr. Robin Myers stood out as the person to lead the campus into the future because of his proven track record as the CEO of a community college campus, his leadership on a local and statewide level and his ability to effectively communicate the vision and the potential of the institution to multiple constituencies,” Welch said in a news release.

Myers will replace Ed Coulter, who became ASU-Mountain Home’s first chancellor in 1995. Coulter announced his retirement earlier this year.
