Truck blocks traffic in Springdale

Posted: July 31, 2012 at 3:50 p.m.

A tractor-trailer that scraped against a pole blocked traffic on Thompson Street and Emma Avenue for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon.

The northbound truck was attempting to turn east on Emma when the trailer of the rig hung up on a post installed to protect the traffic signal. The outside lane of Thompson was blocked, as well as the westbound lane of Emma.

A wrecker pulled the truck off the post to take it east away from the scene where it could be repaired.
