Historians Raise Money For Monte Ne Study

Schaefer and Huntsman are neighbors in the Monte Ne area and had spent time walking the shoreline picking up litter. An exhibition called Buried Dreams, "Coin" Harvey and Monte Ne about the history of the Monte Ne ruins and their creator is on display at Rogers Historical Museum through Sept. 22.

A study to determine the fate of the former Monte Ne resort is scheduled to begin soon, according to Rogers Historical Museum officials.

The Monte Ne resort had, at one time, its own railroad and two of the largest log cabin hotels in the United States, according to historians.
