— Arkansas running back Knile Davis and quarterback Tyler Wilson begin a two-day tour today that will put them face-to-face with some of college football’s movers and shakers.

Davis and Wilson will visit the New York offices of Sports Illustrated and CBS Sports today, then will follow the two-day wave of SEC coaches into Bristol, Conn., for a series of interviews with ESPN and its multimedia presence.

The tour is a part of Arkansas’ publicity campaign to put the Razorbacks’ players and their program in front of the college football public.

“We’ve got to give you guys the sound bytes,” said Wilson, a senior who was the 2011 All-SEC quarterback and a preseason selection by coaches and media to retain that honor. “It’s part of the deal.”

Davis, a redshirt junior, emerged as one of college football’s top backs in the second half of 2010 while rushing for 1,322 yards and 13 touchdowns. He missed all of 2011 with a fractured ankle.

He said he has never been to New York.

“I think it’s an honor,” Davis said. “It’ll be cool to go down there and see how they do things down there. I’m ready.”

Arkansas Coach John L. Smith is touring the ESPN facilities with half of the SEC coaches today on Day 2 of the conference’s appearance in Bristol, Conn.
